So, let me introduce myself. My name is Ulyana. I’m 19 years old. I’m a student.

I am studying in the second year of the Pavlodar State University named after S.Toraigyrov, at the faculty of foreign philology. I have decided to become a philologist because I believe a job should be interesting and socially important.

My family is neither big nor small. There are dad, mommy, me. We spend a lot of time together. We always watch TV, walk outside, go to theatres and play in the yard. I also have grandparents. I have a pet. This is a pretty kitten. Her name is Dasha. 

I like drawing. Especially, I like to draw flowers. Besides, I’m fond of reading. Actually, I’m mad about some novels written by such standard Russian authors as A. Pushkin, L. Tolstoy, I. Turgenev and M. Bulgakov.

I have a lot of friends and I like to spend my free time with them: we go to dance, travel, discover new things. My best friend is Nastya and Dilyara. My friends also love visiting me because I always bake something delicious.

The story under the title “The Escape” was written by one of the outstanding English writers – William Somerset Maugham. William Somerset Maugham is one of the best known English writers of the 20th century. He was not only a novelist, but also a one of the most successful dramatist and short-story writers. Maugham wants the readers to draw their own conclusion about the characters and events described in his novels. His reputation as a novelist is based on the following prominent books: “Of Human Bondage”; “The Moon and Sixpence”; and “The Razor's Edge”. "Louis" by Saki

This is a funny story with an unexpected ending about a married couple of Strudenvards. Looking for a place where they will celebrate Easter there is little conflict. Mr. Strudenvard intends to go to Vienna, but his wife Lina completely refuses to go there, since at home there will still be a favorite dog of Louis. She can not leave him, because according to her, he can bite strangers to him in her absence, that he loves her and is devoted only to her.
