This is a funny story with an unexpected ending about a married couple of Strudenvards. Looking for a place where they will celebrate Easter there is little conflict. Mr. Strudenvard intends to go to Vienna, but his wife Lina completely refuses to go there, since at home there will still be a favorite dog of Louis. She can not leave him, because according to her, he can bite strangers to him in her absence, that he loves her and is devoted only to her. But Mr. Strudenvard's sister Alice remarks that it is this dog Lina who is trying to achieve her, saying that he can bite without it and will not live a day, and that she remembers about him only when something does not suit her and she needs everything to be as she wants.  Witches Loaves is a short story written by O. Henry . O. Henry depict the story’s setting to be unique so as to develop the theme and the main character Martha. The setting is made in a bakery therefore contributing to its plot. The author introduces the story in a small setting in a bakery and an old lonely woman who is interested in an artist who only visit the bakery for two loaves of stale bread. In this constant setting, the main characters are developed therefore creating its theme. Charles  is a short story by American author Shirley Jackson. Although she is best known for her supernatural stories, Jackson also created humorous tales that focused on  realism , plausible situations from everyday life. In 'Charles,' the main character, Laurie, and his alter ego, Charles, are loosely based on Jackson's son Laurence.
